Day 6: Coming into Port
Well here we are: Our last official day on the ship...NOT!
I woke up at 5am like I was needing to get ready to go home. Except I wasn't and my alarm was set for 6am. A whole new excitement. IT'S CRUISE DAY!!! AGAIN!!!
It was still dark out and we were pulling into port. I obviously missed going under the bridge by a few hours. Oops! Obviously Sakari couldn't sleep either and was up with me. All of Tampa was already starting their work day along the water.

I decided to shower and do my hair. Ya gotta look good for those cruise pictures right?
The rest of the fam was up by 6:30am and it was time to head up to the buffet. It really wasn't too crowded either. I think I'm liking being on a "smaller" ship than what I'm used to. It just didn't feel too crowded most of the time.
In line for the egg omelet station and only 2 people ahead of us.

I was kinda disappointed that we weren't being "sent off" with bacon for our last day. But at least there were Danishes.
After breakfast we headed back to the room to pack our last minute items in our luggage and I have to admit, it was great not worrying about forgetting to leave something out or packing something we needed in the morning...OR...most of all having too much left out still in the room that our bag wouldn't hold it all.
We were out of the room by 8am (which is the time they tell you to be out by) and headed down 1 floor to room 6259-Extended Balcony Stateroom.

We ran into the room steward and he was aware of our arrival. He told us that the people in our room was still in the room. They still had the decorations on the door, the Do Not Disturb sign on and a dry erase board on the wall. Um, ok. These rule breakers. Get out of my room. It's time to issue an eviction!
While I was asking the room steward what to do with the luggage, he told us to just leave it outside the door and once they left and he cleaned the room he would put them in there. Meanwhile, I take my eyes off the hubby for one second and he's writing all over the dry erase board on the wall putting our names on it and claiming our new property. Geesh! So if any of you were in that room and walked out to find stuff written all over your dry erase board...now you'll know why. LOL (I totally should have taken a picture of it).
Well, it was almost 8:30am and we headed down to the Atrium. There were a lot of people sitting around. They would randomly get up and walk off the ship. We kept wondering if any of them were staying with us on the next trip. But, people kept leaving. So, we just sat there unsure what to do. We kept waiting for someone to come up and ask if we were staying on or make an announcement or...something. It never happened. Except for Orlando. He stopped to talk to us and asked if we were staying with them and we let him know. He said "That's wonderful!" So at least the cruise director knew.
At 9am they announced almost everyone was off and there were a few stragglers still coming. A lady approached us and Orlando let her know we were doing a back to back. She went over to Guest Services and came back with our new ship key cards. Then said there were 7 of us staying on and she would be walking us out to the terminal together.
We all followed her down the gangway, down the escalator and went up to have our faces scanned by the recognition computer before the security gates, turned around and headed back to the ship.
