RAINFOREST ADVENTURES ZIPLINING 2025
RAINFOREST ADVENTURES ZIPLINING 2025
This zipline is supposed to be the steepest zip line in the world and drops 1500 feet in elevation over 2800 feet. Go big or go home right?
I will spare you the full review and antics on this port portion, but if you are interested in hearing about the entire event, head over to my St Maarten full review, Day 8.
St Maarten charges a 15% tax on everything you do here (including food service). So our cost for 4 people would be $436 to do the zip line.
After checking in, signing the consent forms and paying, they give you a wrist band and it was time to walk up a hill to catch the 4 person ski lift to the top of the mountain. You can also purchase tickets just to ride up. It's called the Sky Explorer.

It was a nice ride to the top and took awhile. Plenty of opportunities to get pictures and think about the doom ahead. We made jokes along the way regarding "What if this thing broke" and so on. I mean it does cross your mind when on something like this right?
There was a nice breeze on the way up. It felt good.

They also had another ride you could do where you bob sled down the mountain. We didn't see anyone go down when we were there but it looked fun.

The view was incredible.

Almost to the top! Lift your feet up before you get to the platform.

After getting off the ski lift, they told us to run over and get on the other ski lift and go on up. Wait, there's another one? We are going even higher!

We finally made it to the top and now there were stairs to climb to continue on up to the very top.

We hung out around the area for awhile taking pictures. There are several different deck up there, all with wonderful views.

Time for a few family pictures:

Ok, time for some climbing. We still needed to make it to the tippy top.

They also have a bar up there...just in case you needed a little liquid courage.
There are 4 zip lines but they were only doing 2 at a time while we were there. So, we split up to go down. They had said you were not allowed to bring your camera or GoPro on the zip line. We were allowed to take them up there for pictures though. They did say that they would video it and we could purchase the video of course.
Then it was time to gear up and by gear up I mean this...

The kids went first so that I could at least get a video of them.
Off they went...

Once you get so far down, you can't even see anyone anymore. They were a tiny spec somewhere down there. Then it was our turn. I couldn't wait. I love things like this. Then off we went...flying like an Eagle. Woo Hoo!
After the ride, no one ever even mentioned anything about the pictures or video. I would later get something in my email stating we could purchase the ski lift video for $10 or the zip line down for $20. It gave you a "free preview" of the video. This free preview shows only that 1 person (so like my video would only have me and not the hubby on it and of course the same for the kids) and I will say the video quality and placement looked terrible. I believe it catches you at the top being released down, then maybe from a side view and then arriving at the bottom platform. I can't believe this preview would be convincing enough for anyone to purchase it. You couldn't really see anyone except take off for a brief moment and the lens from the side was completely blurred. The preview at the end showed grass. LOL I decided not to purchase any of them after seeing that.
Here's the video I made. What an adventure it was!
