PAROTTE VILLE BIRD PARK 2025

PAROTTE VILLE BIRD PARK 2025

We always visit the sanctuary's when we are vacationing and the bird park was definitely on our list to do.

ree

Outside of where the birds are was a playground for the kids and a few tables to sit at (the restrooms are out there to on the side)

The cost to get in is $15/pp and they ONLY ACCEPT CASH!! We headed toward the entrance to the ginormous bird cage where everyone lives in harmony. As every place, you walk into an area and close the door behind you. Then they told us what to do and expect and that you could stay as long as you like.

There was a board with all the different kinds of parrots there (but didn't show half of them). They would also hand us a cup on a stick full of bird feed to entice them to come to us.

There were so many types of birds. I did not expect this at all. Let the fun begin...

While you can read my complete review, with antics and commentary over on my St Maarten land vacation, I'm just going to mostly show the birds and things you'll see in this port section.

I guess not all birds like the food on a stick trick:

ree

We found two birds there that are exactly like Sakari's "Gizmo" back home. We heard them squawk and immediately knew what type of bird it was. A Patagonian!

ree

However, they wanted no part of the food on a stick. They wouldn't come down at all. Hers is so lovable and wants to cuddle and talks. These do not.

They really had some colorful birds here. So pretty!

ree

How many birds can you hold at once?

ree

Outside of the fence to the aviary there is a walkway and then another fence. This guy was looking for the escape route.

ree

Sakari waited for over an hour for a guy to stop holding the African Grey they had there. There were a few of them but the others were up at the top of the aviary and wouldn't come down. Finally she was able to hold it after a very long wait.

There was a very large tortoise on the outside of the aviary and along the walkway as well.

ree

These Blue Indian Ringneck parakeets came over (and they were a pair) and they would talk to each other. Sakari's heart melted. They would kiss each other and give her a kiss. They would whistle, say hello, thank you, I love you, come here, ho are you, among other things. They were absolutely adorable and stole our heart.

Then there was the bluish purple parrot. He was mean. He wouldn't leave us alone. We always watched out for him. We'd walk over to the other side of the aviary and he would come along too. He would get in your hair and tangle himself up. Then one of us would have to attempt to get him out. He got onto the top of Karl's head and Sakari finally got him out and was holding him and he bit her. Like really bit her and she was bleeding a lot. Here he has ahold of her finger right when it happened.

ree

meanwhile these guys were still in the same place and still refusing to come down.

Here's a video of our day there playing with the birds. The two Ringneck birds at the end are absolutely adorable.

We didn't last much longer after the bird bite. The staff cleaned up her finger and bandaged it for her and then it was time to leave. I mean we had been there for hours anyhow.

I highly recommend this place. It was a wonderful experience, minus the bird bite of course, and would definitely go there again.
