ORIENT BEACH 2025
ORIENT BEACH 2025
We stopped here to check out the beach while staying on the island. It was pretty much deserted when we were here. There were a couple of restaurant/bars open and you could rent chairs and umbrella's. This is a popular place when cruise ships are in port.
Both times we have been here the water has big waves so keep that in mind if you are looking for a place for younger children to swim. There was also a lot of sargassum there that day too.
The kids had said they wanted to go parasailing and this was the place to do it. There's a watersport place on the beach called Fly Addiction Parasailing. They charg $60/pp and most of St Maarten adds a 15% service fee on everything on the island as well. So for 2 people it ended up costing $140.
After signing paperwork and paying, they give you life jackets and you head out to the water for them to take you to the boat with their jet ski.
You have to transfer from the jet ski to the boat. One of our people ended up in the water during the transfer. Oops!

They pull you up and down the beach and the kids had a blast.
Aww, they were holding hands up there! How cute.

Every time we've been parasailing, we know they like to "dip" you in the water. This would be no exception. However, this ended up being a little more than a "dip". They went down. They remained down. They were drug in the water. They were twisting and turning. They said it was a blast but I was a little concerned. But as long as they reported having fun was all that mattered I guess.

Being pulled back into the boat:
Here they come back on the jet ski. The driver of the jet ski was twisting and turning and they were having fun.

Well if these pictures don't pain the full picture I don't know what will.

Yep, they loved it.
Here's a short 2 minute video of the kids parasailing...the ending is hilarious. You know when I said they REALLY got "dipped" I can guarantee you didn't picture this...
