LONG BAY BEACH 2025
LONG BAY BEACH 2025
We were out driving around, looking for beaches and followed our map to get here. It is located in a housing development (a very expensive one) but it is a public beach. There is parking along the road and a path with a fence to head down to the beach.
Now I do have to say that we came here a day after Hurricane Erin had passed by the island (not hitting us) so the water was pretty fierce that day and we were unable to swim. However, I'm going to show you around.
There was a sign along the fence saying there is sea turtle nesting in the area.
Here is the sandy walkway with a fence on both sides lining it. I guess you can't get lost getting out to the beach.

As we came out to the beach, the first thing we noticed were the waves. YIKES! There would be no swimming today.

It was pretty hot out that day so we didn't stay for too long since we couldn't get in the water. It's definitely a place I wouldn't mind going to again.

Up along the tree areas you would see very large holes dug in the sand. We knew these were from the turtles. It was pretty cool and they were everywhere.

Here's a short video of the area:
Now I really wouldn't say this is a beach you come to unless you are staying on the island. Like I said, it's in a housing area (and they're still building) and their houses back up to the beach. But we would have definitely stayed had the water been calmer.
