CARNIVAL CONQUEST SHIP TOUR
So on with the ship pictures. I always try to start on the lowest deck and work my way up. This will be no exception.
We will start with Deck 3: Riviera Deck.
Every review should start with one of the main attractions and I believe the atrium is the main attraction...so that's where we will start.
I honestly don't know what the "theme" of this ship is supposed to be. I could only figure out it's "artwork" and the only artwork I'm ever exposed to consist of my munchkins demented dinosaur and dragon drawings coupled with every other marine life and animal picture she can conjure up in her head. So...I am taking my "information" from other places on the "net" to compensate for my lack of knowledge.
The Artist Lobby (or atrium). The murals on the ceilings are plentiful and depict life during the 19th century in Paris and atrium the is 7 stories tall reaching the top with a glass ceiling.
There are 4 glass elevators in the atrium.
When can one actually get a shot of the atrium floor area without anyone in it? Think about it, it can't be done when you enter the ship because it's one of the most congested areas where people are getting on. There's always someone in this area during the day with trivia's and in the evenings during music and other activities.
So, I'm here to tell you the best shot will be when you are getting off the ship and the area is roped off. YEP! I'm winning.

You'll find the Guest Services and Shore Excursions in this area as all the other ships have.
The 2 main dining rooms are the Renoir Restaurant and the Monet Restaurant. Both are located on deck 3 and 4 with the opening in the middle. There are Eiffel Tower work there with a "sky" ceiling and clouds and domes. Both basically looked the same to me, just located at different areas.
The Monet is located in the back of the ship and was open for breakfast, brunch and dinner. There's open seating for breakfast and brunch and assigned dining for the evenings.
The Renoir is open only for dinner and is considered your place for anytime dining. It's located in the middle of the ship and IMO a pain in the arse for the location. It was so hard to get from one end of the ship to the other due to this restaurant not having a way around it without going up and down the stairs/elevators. We forgot each and every time that you couldn't make it through here. We finally got a little aggravated and just started walking through it every time we got stuck. I seriously hate when they don't have an appropriate way around venues such as this on the ship.
Since both of these places looked the same to me, I'll just share a mixture of them because I have no idea what is what.
The Toulouse-Lautrec Show Lounge.
This theater is 3 stories tall with a seating capacity of 1,400. There was always room in there during the shows we went to.
According to what I have read, the decor in here features the Montmartre district of Paris and included windmills.
I did over hear an employee telling people that the bright yellow seats were just seats that they had already replaced the fabric on and they were not "saved" or "special" seating and anyone was able to sit there.

I always love how Carnival has this wide seating area on the ground floor with room to walk around everyone if needed. It's always an added plus when you have a table for your drinks there as well.
Stars in the sky...

DECK 4: MAIN DECK
Alfred's Bar-I guess this bar was originally created as a Cigar Bar and was named after an artist names Alfred Sisely. We passed through here many times on the cruise and I never once seen it being used by anyone other than the "teens". There was always a bartender there, but never anyone in the venue. It was quite large and very dark in there. We always had to pass there when walking from one end of the ship, on deck 4, to the other. Every time we were in there in the evening, there were teenagers playing the "hook-up" game and "making out". All of them would be in a group and sitting on each others laps off in the corner. I think I'll stop cruising when Sakari gets that age. I just won't be able to handle that.
But, it was a pretty neat area once you get past the scenes that did not permanently belong there.
Circle C: The "teen club". This is for 12-14 year old's.
I think this on every cruise...but I have never really said anything before. This has to be the worse "kids" area ever. Every one of them look about the same...you have tons of chairs to sit in, t.v.'s, computer and maybe video games. It looks like it's the only options for this age group. It all seems to revolve around "sitting" (lots of chairs/benches). Of course I assume they get out and play games and sports, but that's just a "first impression" that I get every time I walk into one of these. It just seems "blah" to me.
Gallery Conference Room:
Alrighty then...let's take a good look at this room.

t sorta reminds me of a church/chapel that they could use this area for a wedding or reception
Or course with the chairs all lined up, and it being called a "conference room", I assume it is used for that as well.

So why am I making such a big deal about this room? Because it's where they would stick Sakari at for the kids club later in the week. Does this look like a "fun" room? Yea, I'm pretty sure she don't want to grow up anymore. She'd rather be in the "baby" room.
The Painters Library: A place to go to read books donated (or you can bring your own and donate when finished if you'd like) and they also have a supply of "games"...using that term lightly and you'll see why later...
The Photo Gallery: This goes around in a circle on deck 4 and is pretty big. It still has an old system in place where you must search for days for you picture and you feel like you have struck gold if you are able to locate yourself in the mounds of pictures. This is an activity in itself during the evenings. They should put it in the Fun Times as an activity and list it as the "Aggravated Times".
I spoke to the manager of the photography department (no I didn't search him out, he approached me) in great depth one day during the cruise. He did mention that they once tried the "face recognition" software, but it didn't work or last long and they removed it. (Later on this conversation with him).

Also, with each purchase you work your way toward free "gifts". These are the ones that I earned during the cruise. This included a drinking cup, free Shutterfly photo book, free luggage tag and 8gb memory stick.

The Sunflower Atrium: This atrium is located outside of the Monet Dining Room at the back of the ship. I absolutely loved it. Very beautiful. It was a lit up blowing Van Gogh Sunflower.
Vincents Jazz Bar: Vincent Van Gogh liked the color yellow from what I'm understanding...so this bar has bright yellow sunflowers around it. There was also other colored glass flowers. I'm not sure why they didn't just name this the Sunflower Lounge.
DECK 5
Alchemy Bar: One of the 2.0 enhancements I believe. The bar where you create your own mixture of taste or get a traditional drink here.

Blues Piano Bar
Cafe Fans: A place to purchase specialty coffees, pastries, and cakes for an additional price.

This place was also open during the last morning during debarkation. My hubby tried to purchase some coffee only to find out that they used your key card to do it and well...ours was 0 at that time.
Cherry On Top: Another 2.0 feature that was added and is filled with any type of teeth rotting goodness you little heart desires. I love this shop but have found (in the past) that my candy appetite is not as big as I think it is. I always end up purchasing too much (because everything looks so good at the time) and never eating it all...therefore bringing most of it home and some of it going to waste. This Cherry On Top is probably one of the smallest ones I have seen on the ships so far.

Not only do they have candy, but stuffed animals and gifts:
Candy in bulk...that's where they really getcha!
If rotting your significant others teeth out isn't something on your agenda, then you might consider a non-edible gift like flowers...or better yet, get her drunk:
There's plenty of "extras" in this store to catch the munchkins eye and beg for when you tell them "too much candy is not good for you". Carnival had a back-up plan.

That added little touch to remind you not to walk out with candy in your hands

And for those with not only big appetites, but big mouths. These are for you.
CLUB 02: For teens ages 15 to 17. This looks like a nightclub and has a dance floor and bar (soda of course). I thought it was pretty cool looking...but then again, I wonder how many actually goes here since they are all busy hanging out in Alfred's bar instead.
The Degas Lounge: There was a bar here and a stage and is used for the comedian for the Punchliners Comedy Club and other activities on the ship. The room had large reproductions of Edgar Degas' ballerina sculptures around it and trimmed in a lot of gold.
Henri's Dance Club: This is a nightclub with a bar and a pretty nice sized dance floor. It's one of those places that has the window on the side by the dance floor that others can view you dancing as they are walking between floors in the stairway. Henri stands for Henri Roseau who primarily paints jungles scenes, which is found in the decor around the club.
Impressionist Boulevard. This is the area that runs along the side of Deck 5. It is the walking area in the casino to the other end of the ship with the venues on the sides.
Internet Cafe: If you don't use your phone or bring your own laptop...these are for you

Kiosk:
My definition of a Kiosk is this:

Their definition is this:

In the smaller Kiosk, you can check your balance, print statements, add money and so on.
At their desk, I believe they were there to get you to sign up for the Carnival Credit Card. I'm not sure what else they did there.
Skybox Sports Bar: This place was tucked away off the casino area and had multiple t.v. screens that showed sports.

Tahiti Casino: The place where either magic happens and you are grinning from ear to ear...or on the opposite side of the spectrum and you are frustrated because all you did was donate your money.
These Fu Dao Le slot machines were very popular on the Fascination and got me and the hubby (and Kendra) hooked on them. We were so excited when they put them in at our local casino and excited to see they were on here as well. However, on the other side is another slot that is similar, but it's a frog instead. I was always doing pretty good on them. Nothing BIG, but was able to hit the bonus rounds a lot on it.
These are those seizure inducing bright and loud machines that came out a few years ago. They were very popular and you were considered lucky if you could ever get a seat at any of them on prior cruises. However, I think the excitement died down and you could always find one to play.

Now these....these are the new hot thing that everyone was always on and very fun to play. The hubby did very well on it and I did "ok" but would always end up donating my money back to them because they were addicting to play.

This was one of my hubby's favorites on another ship. He also plays them here at the casino. However, he didn't have any luck on the ship.

I always love playing Zillion Gators, Fishing Bob and LobsterMania
Those popular games everyone was always on...hubby liked the Money Rain on the end.
YES!! I FOUND GOLD FISH! I did well on the one on the end and ALICE!!! MY NEW FOUND FRIEND! I had a great time on both of these. The one second to the right was always hitting. Now when I say "hitting" I'm not talking thousands...I'm not even talking hundreds...to me "hitting" is anything that doubles my money. I always start with $20 in a slot. If I double, I cash out and call it a good day. Well, when I played these, I would hit between $58-98 and that was exciting to me. I was constantly getting the bonus, extra's and things that popped up for me to "pick one". I love games like that.

Goddess of Gold on the end...I started playing that one night and found that you can stop the reals when you wanted. I "practiced" one night and walked away with a decent amount of money by doing that ($81 on the $12 I had inserted from the loss of another machine). Miss Red is always a fun game and usually keeps you playing for awhile as well. To the left was the Roller Coaster Game. I love playing this at home and they had 2 of them on the ship.

If you notice the machine on the right...it's another Alice game. It's located on the opposite side of the others. I did not do any good on it (and it's one of the "newer" types).

Taste Bar: I thought this place was a pay place and never tried it. I'm reading that it's not? You can get appetizer samples from the specialty restaurants and other places on the ship? Oops.

The Fun Shops...because it's always fun to shop right?
Just in case in run out of money...this was put here on purpose I bet. Whatcha think?

Video Arcade: I say this every review...do people really use these? I have yet to hardly ever see anyone in here actually playing the games. I see people walking in and looking around, like I do, but I never see anyone actually playing video games anymore. I still think back to the 80's when this was VERY popular and they were opening up arcade's in the shopping malls. You never see anything like this out in the "real world" (at least anywhere I go) and it still has me scratching my head wondering if people still play these?
DECK 9: LIDO DECK
Blue Iguana: A place to get burrito's and taco's made to order. They also serve breakfast burritos as well.
COFFEE BAR: This is a coffee bar where you can purchase special coffees, both cold and hot beverages, for a price. It is located inside the buffet area.

CEZANNE BUFFET: This buffet area is pretty large, however, they didn't seem to make full use of it. The breakfast was always served in the front buffet and the dinner in the back. There are 2 main buffets (serving the same thing on each side) and additional small areas serving extra things such as pastries, salad toppings and deserts on certain days. I have to say, with a buffet this big, they really didn't have much to offer. A majority of the buffet was dedicated to a salad bar daily, and then a small portion was the "main course" to pick from. After that were usually some type of meats to be sliced and served. I was honestly disappointed in this buffet during the cruise. We had some good nights and some bad nights.
The Deli
On one side of the buffet, they had a sushi bar (looked the same as the deli, but on the opposite side) and then the other side was the deli. You can get cold cut and hot sandwiches here and has a small variety of things to pick from.

Just a few random "extras".
The whale tail:

There are multiple ice cream stations on the Conquest:

While these hand washing stations are a good idea, I couldn't get one of them to work right. It's an all-in-one: put you hand under and soap dispenses, then it rinses, then it dries. Every time I tried one I got the soap, the rinse and when it was time to dry...I got the soap again. Maybe that's why I didn't see anyone else use them?

Guys Burgers: This is located by the main pool and the opposite side of the Iguana. It serves hamburgers and there's a topping bar to spruce it up as you'd like. They also have signature burgers and is designed by Chef Guy Fieri. Normally I'm excited to find this 2.0 upgrade on the ship and I love the hamburgers, but we only managed to eat here once this cruise for some reason. They have limited hours (I think maybe 12-6pm).
The Seafood Shack: Where you can order fish, shrimp (by the pound) and other specialties...for an additional price. It is located on the back of the ship by the Sky Pool and opposite of the Pizza Place.
The Sky Pool is the pool on the back of the ship. From what I understand, it use to be the "adult" pool, but several weeks ago it was opened up to everyone (rumor I heard was it was for Spring Break). I believe I was told that during dry-dock, this would turn into the Serenity area in the future.
There's 2 very large hot tubs back here and also a bar.

I noticed the lights matched the decor of the tables here and in the buffet.
The lights in the pool changed at night and was really pretty.
I really liked this area because, even though it had lounge chairs, there were a lot of tables in the area as well. Along the sides and along the back of the ship...with a view.
A really cool feature was that it had the sliding glass dome. Now I know in the past, people on here have stated that they can only close the domes during port and docked. Well, this dome would open and close every day and night and we were always out to sea when they did it.

There is a main pool, located in the middle, and has a huge screen (sea-side theater) for movies at night. As you can see in this picture, there are a couple of hot tubs up there on a higher (step) level.
Nightly movies were played on the deck in the evenings...complete with popcorn. We did not go to any of the movies this cruise because every time I looked, I had never heard of the movie and it didn't seem like the type Sakari would like.

Something VERY INTERESTING...and I'm not sure if this is coming out on ALL the Carnival ships...but kudos to Carnival for doing this. I imagine with all of the drownings of children, they have come up with a partial solution. They had life jackets out on the deck for people to use if needed. Now let's just hope those parents that know their children can't swim or are not good swimmers, use them.
And one extra....coming in from the pool:

DECK 10: PANORAMA DECK
BBQ: This is a great area that's located (by stairs) up from the buffet area. They have limited hours of operation but offer BBQ items and is very yummy. There's plenty of seating up there.
Back to the closing roof for the Sky Pool in the back of the ship. This does close at any time (and not only when in port). They closed it every night and also if the weather was not sunny.
Sakari was in the hot tub one day and they started to close it. She had her camera and managed to get pictures of it closing. It squeaks and squeals, so when it's closing, you will know it.
One thing I did want to mention about this pool/area is that this was the big hang out of the teens at night as well. I'm not sure if they were also in the main pool, but at night when we'd come back here for pizza, they would all be in the pool and VERY loud since the top was shut...everything echoed. I can say that I cruise every single Spring Break and have listened to all of the "complaints" about all the children running around crazy and I have never experienced it until now. Although, I have to say that I only seen them at night. During the day, everything was "normal" like any other cruise. Anyhow...just wanted to give that assessment.
Deck 10 Smoking section.
For those that smoke or those that want to avoid smoke...This is the section. I have to say that I have never seen such a large area dedicated to smokers. It was the entire deck down from the door you walk out in the back until right before the steps to go down to the main pool basically. There's a lot of lounge chairs, chairs, wicker chairs by the railing with umbrellas and a huge section of the comfy wicker chairs and padding and tables as well. I'm not sure if it's like this on every Conquest class ship or not. I believe you could also smoke on deck 3 and then of course the casino...which I noticed was at every slot machine and half the bar. The only area that was non-smoking in the casino was the table and chairs along the side walkway and the other half of the bar. One draw-back was that to get up to that area, you were walking up the steps. The elevators on that side did not go up that far and stopped at deck 9.
Steakhouse:
I didn't even realize this existed until I accidentally ran into it. Steak is not my thing, so I snapped a few pictures and never found it again.
DECK 11
The Sports Deck.
Jogging Track, Shuffleboard, Basketball and Soccer.
Weirdest Basketball court ever. Only a half court and very very small with a "dome" in the middle. So, no real "basketball games" will be played here.
DECK 12
Camp Carnival:
They have one section for the "youngin's", ages 2-5. The opposite section is for ages 6-8 year old's and "sometimes" the 9-11 year old's was on that side too. Other times, they were elsewhere.

2-5 year old's (Penguins)
Section dividing them:

6-8 year old's (Stingrays)
They give the kids little "gifts" at the kids club.
Sakari got a shark lanyard and Carnival necklace with a shark on it and also a Stingray one (can't find it for pictures at the moment).

She was also given a Stingray back pack thingy and a notebook.

She received other little gifts during the week as well. They really like to spoil the kids.
Mini-golf is up on the 12th deck as well and there's a really odd way to get up there. It took me awhile of circling the area to figure it out. You have to enter into the basketball court and cut over the court and to the stairs. Super odd way of doing it and could potentially interrupt a "game" (using that word loosely because I can't imagine being able to play any type of game in this half court that's so small).

Up close and personal with the funnel.
Some "Extras"
Outside of the kids club, there is a fenced off area that children can play. I think this is the first time I have ever found something like this on a ship. There was A LOT there.

Chess games

The water slide (I did not try it, but Sakari did and said it was super slow and she had no desire to go back on it again after 3 tries).
Also outside of the kids club was this little area. I'm not sure it was ever being used. There looked to be a window there to maybe "order" something in the past? Anyone know what this could have been?

Late one night we were picking up Sakari from the kids club and noticed a "glow" outside the doors in this area. I went over to investigate and seen they had put up the glowing tables. There wasn't anyone out there and I have no idea what it was for.

Here is the self-service laundry facility on (my) floor. I peeked in to check it out.
Don't forget room service...because I sure did! ☹️
Just an observation I have always had with Carnival, since my first cruise... I HATE that there are no paper towels in the bathroom. I can't stand using the air dryers. I know they reduce waste, keep from killing trees, and are more sanitary they say, but I can't stand the air.
I also know that a big priority is to keep from spreading germs and they do have the small napkins to use to pull the door open and a trash can waiting outside the door to deposit it in. However...I'm still trying to figure out why they haven't switched to motion controlled water sensors? You have to turn the water on with dirty hands right? With no napkins, you turn them off with clean hands. Yes, I know you use your elbow or something else...but I would just think that they would be motion by now. I watched people during the cruise 1) not wash their hands at all, 2) turn it on with their hands and back off with their clean hands, 3) just run their hands under the water with no soap. I've had noro from a cruise before...it's not fun! If only everyone would experience it once, there wouldn't be a soul on there not washing their hands!!

Never once seen anyone use these and there were several that hand nothing in them.

I still think Carnival falls short to the sanitary/hand washing problem compared to NCL. At least NCL has a person standing at the entrance of the buffet squirting your hands down as you enter. NCL also has a person, doing the same thing, when you enter the ship.
Our complimentary pond/lake of water they provide each time we return below. Everyone knows how I feel about water, but I'm trying to get better. I actually brought my "grape flavored/added caffeine powder with me this time for water. My son swears this is the best tasting water he has ever had (and he works at a grocery store and has tried it all).

Our welcome aboard free drinks. It kinda sucks that you can only use these on the last day of the cruise and only after 5pm. I wonder what the reason is for that? I really appreciate that they also give one to Sakari. She enjoys getting a "big girl" drink too.

Our ship pin. It's too bad they don't have the ship names on them like NCL has. Nevertheless I still put them in my scrapbook.

Info on the Carnival Hub App. I enjoy this app for checking my balance, logging on to the internet, and also looking at "what's going on".

We did get the internet package for the week. It was $136 for the 8 days. I don't think this is a bad price at all. Carnival still remains cheaper than NCL. We NEED to stay connected due to the hubby's business. I "want" to stay connected to my kids back home and know what's going on. So, we always get the full plan.

This is what logging on looks like from the phone. It can be done using the app or going online.

This is my favorite part of the app...pushing this button at any given moment. hehehehehe NCL, you have to actually log out for the other person to get on. Carnival...nope, just push that button.

All of the elevators have paintings on the ceilings:

One thing I found hilarious is this trim they had around the doors and inside the elevators:

It resembled a sticker...but you really didn't know. I touched it multiple times to see if it was real and stuck out...yes, yes it did. I wasn't the only person doing this. I found multiple people during the cruise do the exact same thing. I didn't feel so odd after all.

Advertisements in the elevators...needless to say, during Spring Break, you would find these 1) missing and then later returned or 2) hung upside down.

I would find myself reciting this phrase during the entire cruise. For some reason when you stand by the buttons, you have a habit of looking at stuff around it...and in awkward moments with other people on the elevator, you read this sign over and over each trip.
All I could think of is if this elevator went dark...how do they expect you to find the phone to call someone?

For those that might want to know the breakdown of the daily service charges...this is what showed up on my phone:

"My Rewards" from Pixels Photo Gallery.
If you like purchasing the photo's they take of you on the ship (and in port), then they have a rewards program that gives you freebies at certain milestones.

1 photo: personalized luggage tag using Shutterfly
3 photos: free 8x8 photo book using Shutterfly
6 photos: Customizable travel coffee mug
10 photos: 8GB memory stick that looks like a ship.
15 photos: Nautical Scrapbook
20 photos: Customizable tote bag
30 photos: Extra special surprise valued at $79.99
Also, once you hit the 10 photos freebie, when you get your memory stick, for $9.99 they will put all 10 of your pictures on it for you.
Ok, this last round of photos (and there will be quite a few) are the pictures found in all of the staircases, some of the hallways, and others of pictures they have hanging up all over the ship.
I usually do this "run" on the last day of the cruise to make sure I get them all.
So...here we go.
Hallways:
This was our hallway. You could see this bunny right as soon as you looked toward our hallway after getting off the ship. For the first few days, that's how I knew I had turned into the correct hallway on the right side of the ship. lol
