Day 4: Part 2
I had to go to another page to continue with our day in Cozumel. My dive pictures just take up too much space for one page and the site starts acting weird. So, I will continue here.
So as I said, this was dive number 26 for us. Everyone always asks why we don't get certified. Up until maybe the last 5 dives or so I just had no desire to. But, I have been thinking about it each time we dive recently. With our schedules and the hubby being a truck driver, it would never coincide withe each other. This time I told everyone maybe we were just going to have to all do it on our own whenever we can. I still have no desire to go down any deeper, do a night dive or anything that we haven't been doing already. But, I know that means we would be able to skip the class each time and would end up being cheaper in the long run. So, I think I just may check into at least doing the online class portion this summer and maybe picking a Caribbean destination for a land vacation to complete it. At least for some of us. We will see.
Here's our video for the day. It's a little over 3 minutes long and packed with various types of fish...and our fish friend following us everywhere we went. He wanted to be the star of the show. I guess he's heard about my reviews and wanted in on it.
We ended up diving for 51 minutes (the instructor said) and we went to a depth of 33'. After the dive they thanked us and hoped that some day we would return. I reminded them that we still needed to pay our balance and ask if the credit card machine was working yet. Also, I would notice that everyone working here at Sunset would have the same "Dive Cozumel" tee shirt that I had on too! I told you I was going to fit right in!
Then we headed upstairs to get some authentic Mexican food!
Here is the menu:
This would be our view! Ahhh, I could totally get used to this!

Yep, day drinking already...
Look at the cute little Doggie Bar they have outside the dining area for the street dogs.
Our food came and it was so delicious! There's nothing like the real thing! Sakari always has to get Ceviche of course. She's hooked on that since the first time they served it on one of our excursions while we were staying in Mexico.
Our bill would come to $116.50 US (which is $2593.50 peso's) plus tip.
So what now? Do we catch a cab back or walk back? We had plenty of time and the kids decided we should just walk back to the port. I didn't have a problem with it since now we knew just how far it was....and off we went.

I guess I didn't realize they have Atlantis submarines here. We've done the one in Aruba before.

If anyone is looking for a place near the port (basically in the port) to swim in the ocean or snorkel, this is right here (I didn't realize this either but maybe it's because we always go somewhere or don't dock here). I would definitely check this place out when we come back if we decide not to go on an excursion. It was at Tequila A Go Go?

We walked around the port for awhile to look in the shops. Karl wanted to buy a magnet from here since this was actually his first visit to Cozumel.
Then back to the ship we went.

After getting back to our room we would find a new friend was left for us.

We would also find that the ship was empty and we had our pick of pool chairs and an empty pool. So, we would stay here for a few hours relaxing.

When people started returning to the ship that was our que to sell off our prime property estate at poolside and head back to the room for showers.
We went up to check out our pictures since we started the cruise and there was a wonderful steel drum player in the atrium. We would stand above him and watch him play and man was he good! I could listen to him all day. THIS is sound of vacation!

Just a short video of him. I wish I would have taken a better one with some of the songs he played that everyone knows. He was just amazing!
When he was done playing we decided to just walk around for awhile...but we found it a little difficult. The ship was leaning...and I mean LEANING. What the heck? I haven't even had a drink and I feel off balance. It would continue this for awhile and then finally the Captain came on and said we were heading into port for an emergency.
Hmmm, this port looks familiar.
Yep, we were back in Cozumel again. The ship didn't even tie up. They pulled up, they took a lady off, they pulled right back out within minutes. She seemed to be alright and was waving at everyone and gave the thumbs up. I know that must have cost an arm and a leg and her next born child. Is it cheaper to go back to port (if you are close enough) than to have a helicopter pick you up? I've heard stories that life flight costs around $60k but what will it cost you to come back to port in port fees?

Our friends were still docked:

Man that water is so crystal clear blue and you could see everything at the bottom.

We were already dressed for dinner and the kids decided they enjoyed it so much last night that they wanted to go back to Fins to eat again tonight. So, off we went.
Here is the menu for the night:

Sakari is my soup girl. She loves almost all of them. She ordered the Chipotle Sweet Potato Soup and we all had another kind of soup (I don't remember what it was but I don't see it on the menu).
She decided she liked ours better after giving her a bite. Then she was over dramatic and threw her head back saying "Oh my it's sooooo good"
Yes, I caved in and let her finish mine off. Then we ordered some salads.
Blackened Shrimp and Mediterranean Grilled Chicken
This time around we ordered the Pina Colada Lush and Tiramisu for dessert. Only our waiter tonight brought out ice cream to accompany the desserts. How nice!
After dinner we found Pete the Parrot in the Atrium and the kids went to take a picture

It was a little wavy out tonight (from our balcony)
We decided to stay in our room until it was time for a show. Then we discovered it was the comedian that was the feature tonight and we decided we wouldn't go. Sakari fell asleep and the rest of us watched Puss n Boots on the tv until it was time for bed.
Mrs Squeaker now had a few friends. Mrs Squeaker meet Mr Ruff and Captain Quack. We did not find any ducks today. Boo!
