Day 3: Sea Day
It's a sea day today and that meant sleeping in. No really, I slept in believe or not. We didn't go up to the buffet until 9am. That's sleeping in for me.
I headed to the omelet bar and today was sausage day. No bacon. Insert sad face here.

As we are sitting in the buffet eating breakfast we hear someone scream "Sakari!!!". Sakari looks up and it was one of her friends from school in one of her classes. They got up, squealed, hugged, girl chatted and were amazed that they happen to be on the same vacation during Spring Break. How cool was that?!
Our view during breakfast:

Of course no breakfast can end without the Danishes.

After breakfast we headed back to the room to take a look at the Checklist to Chill.
We hung out in the room awhile and chilled on the balcony. Sakari, of course, was drawing but this time she had taken a picture of one of my tattoo's I have on my leg that has faded and doesn't look the greatest anymore. She decided to redraw it with the hopes of some day she would be able to fix it for me.
"Hmmm, I like that but not that". (adjusted picture)
"Yea, that looks better but can you do a little less shading on this area?" (adjusted picture)
"Ok, put some color in there and make it look like it's reflecting from the light" (adjusted picture)

This went on for hours and finally we needed a break to readjust, clear our thoughts and come back to it later. Karl jumps up and says "We need to go to the casino. That will give us something else to do!" I just knew that was coming. LOL So off we went.
I had a great running streak playing Lobster Mania multiple times on the cruise. It's one of those games that hit the bonus round all the time and would (although not win "big") keep you playing for a very long time. Another player had discovered this one night as well and was on it for HOURS! Well, she wasn't there today. I guess she finally gave up and moved on....days later. Or, maybe she doesn't play during the day. Either way, that machine was mine today!!

I did play for quite some time but was ready to move on to something different.

I walk over to find that Karl had already won over $300 since I was gone. What the heck? He is so lucky. Of course my teachings to him did not sink in and he kept playing instead of cashing out. But he still walked out with $200+. I walked out with a ticket for a little over $20...which I will put it right here...I lost it just as quick. Like I literally LOST it somewhere. I had to have pulled something out of my purse and dropped it by mistake or something. I just know I no longer had it. Well, I'm just glad it wasn't Karl's ticket amount.
It was time for lunch and we decided to go to the back of the ship and see what they had back there. This is when we actually discovered that they charge for the food back there.
Here are the prices in case you are interested
We ate at Cheeseburger in Paradise again. You just can't go wrong with that. I loaded up with mushrooms and savored each flavor. Then I headed into the buffet for dessert and ended up with this...

Sakari (for some unknown reason) always likes to watch the shows like the Sexy Legs competition on other ships and seen that they would be having a Sexy Cruiser (man) competition on this ship by the pool. She insisted she wanted to watch. She wanted to stay on the pool deck and I wanted to go up a flight and sit until it was time.
It was almost time for it to start and the hubby and I walked over to the railing to see if we could spot the kids down below and we did.

Instead of going down to where they were, I decided to go up either further and headed to the top of the Land Shark Bar area. We were as high as we could get now and perfect view of everything.

As we sat around waiting for the competition to begin, the hubby decides he has to use the restroom. He has the smallest, weakest bladder of anyone I've ever met and when he says he has to go, he means as in right now! I told him it was a long walk down so he better get trekking...and off he went.
At some point, Sakari was looking around and looked up and I waved. She was able to spot me several decks above. Then all of a sudden I see this...

Oh no, no, no...this can't be happening. He was only supposed to be on a quick potty run and he just had to come out at this particular time and Alejandra stops him for...the Sexy Cruiser Man contest. No, please no. Please refuse!
The next thing I know he's standing in a line up. Oh Em Gee! This can't be happening. Please tell me it's a dream. I swear no matter what vacation we are on, someone in our family gets picked for something. Whether it's to participate in a magic show, a comedy show or to dance...it will be the hubby or Sakari. I think we've done our time for these events (although Sakari loves it). I mean the hubby was just pulled up on stage during our Vegas vacation 4 months ago with Tape Face. I'm beginning to think his stardom in Vegas went to his head and his thirst for more has kicked in.

You are supposed to come out, wow the ladies on the judge panel with your "moves". Go to the light post and do whatever you want with the pole. Then come back, take your shirt off and show your muscles. Then drop to the deck and do 10 push ups.
1) The dance: The hubby is NOT a dancer. He has no moves. He can rock back and forth with a move that appears like he's in some type of pain. Do you need a medic? So he decided to forego the opportunity to put these poor women through this and just casually walked by waving at them. Yea, I'm not so sure this move will work in a sexy contest.

2) The pole: The hubby has been a skater his entire life. The only thing he knows to do with a pole is grind it...and we're not talking about "that" kind of grind either...which I'm pretty sure that's what they expected. Instead he ran up on it and swung around it like a monkey.

3) Take your shirt off and show your muscles: Well, he flashed his belly. Showed his guns (well, maybe pistols) and finally took his shirt off and flung it like Magic Mike.

4) Push Ups: Well, that wasn't a problem. When you're on Keto you have all the energy in the world and he had no issues with this.

So now Alejandra asks the judges what the men could do better at. One of them said better eye contact. "I want to know that you are putting the show on for me"
So once again the men were asked to give it another shot and dance for the ladies. Oh geesh! Here we go again.
5) The dance: The hubby did a few wiggles back and forth then went up to the lady that said more eye contact and removed her sunglasses and gave her the look. Babe, this is not helping your case.

At this point I had moved down a deck and over to the side to get a better view...and hopefully his attention to let him know to bust a move...just a little bit more...anything...come on...you do better when you are dancing with me out on the dance floor. At least I think you do. Maybe I'm just not paying attention because I'm out there having fun myself?
After the torture, I mean show, was over. The hubby looked up at me and I gave him multiple hand gestures, swinging my hips back and forth, throwing them up in the air and mouthing "Why didn't you schmooze those judges?" I think he was more embarrassed than anything. He kinda threw his hands up in the air like "I don't know"

Well they lined everyone up and it was a secret vote. The hubby didn't make it. Awww, I can't imagine why. He will always be my Sexy Man. No need to prove it to anyone else. I will spare you the video of this event...at least this time around. If he decides to ever agree to this in the future...all bets are off.

It was hot outside and we had been standing in the heat forever. It was time to head inside in the a/c for awhile to cool off and get some drinks. Then we headed back down to our room and found a new friend.
The schedule would show there was a new trivia to be played and we were game.

This trivia would be Name That Tune: Songs in Reverse. Oh this should be fun...and man oh man was it ever. Some were very recognizable and others not so much. We had a lot of fun doing it though. Of course the most recognizable was a Michael Jackson song "Billie Jean" where he moon walked. Of course these games are for points and they always gave out extra points to people that did extra things.
Sakari took one for the team and did her moon walk in front of everyone for extra points. They loved it so much that I think we earned an extra 7 points for that. She does this all the time at home, so she gets a lot of practice. However, we have porcelain floors in our kitchen and it makes her glide across the floor with ease. This dance floor, not so much and her socks were "sticking". She still pulled it off and the crowd loved it...and so did she.

Sakari is giving dance lessons if anyone is interested...she was trying to teach her dad. Maybe that will help him at the next sexy contest.

Well Karl didn't want Sakari stealing the show. Remember the dance class the kids did to learn the dance to Bye Bye Bye? Well, that happened to also be one of the backwards songs and guess what happened when they played the music in the correct direction...

Karl said something just came over him and he just got up and started dancing. This is so not like him to do something like this in front of everyone. Our family is corrupting him I tell ya.
Yep, extra points again for this family.
Now the Fins Up Crew member that was conducting this event, I had noticed her on last weeks cruise. She looked familiar. I kept telling the hubby that she was on one of the other ships we've been on in the past. I distinctly remember her being one of the dancers at some of the parties on another ship and while my memory of people is not the best and you will have to tell me your name multiple times, multiple months, heck multiple years at times...I remembered her because she looks just like a girl I graduated school with. So, her face stuck with me.
I decided to stop and talk to her and ask if she was on another ship...Carnival? RC? NCL? Yep, it was NCL. Yep, I knew it. She was at the sail away parties, the Glow party and the Silent party. I KNEW I knew her from somewhere!!

Her name is Andrea from Columbia and she told the audience she was Miss Columbia back in 2003 and 2004.
It was time for a restroom break. On the way there, Karl found a teeny weenie duck. And on the way back I found it's sister teeny weenie duckling. Please stop with these. Where are the real ducks?
Ok, up next was yet another trivia. It was the Motown trivia. Well, I'm not sure we are going to do the best on this one unless it only involved Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder or someone like that. But we'd give it a shot...and we failed miserable. I think we only got a whopping 4 points this time. Ok, obviously time to move on to something different. We've had enough humiliation for the day.
As we headed out toward the atrium we would find that a party was going on. It was the Captain's Margarita Toast and they passed out free drinks! Yes please. I love margarita's.

The captain had a great personality and took off his uniform and got into his cowboy attire.

He reminded us of the show tonight Conky Tonkin' at Sea and invited us all to come. Sakari and I are not really into country but Karl likes it and the hubby will listen to anything. So, I guess we're going.
While we were in the atrium we stopped at Guest Services to put a card on file for our charges after getting the notice in our room. I would also tell them to add all of us to that card to be able to charge. Again, weird looks from the staff about putting the kids on there. Just trust me with this please.
After taking care of that, we walked right over to the Excursion desk to inquire about our excursion. We had booked with them (which we normally don't do but this is a new port for us) and we had booked prior to the cruise online. I wasn't quite sure how this was going to work. They let me know that the tickets with the information on where to meet and what to do would be delivered to our room.
We headed back to the room to wait for the show and I managed to find a key chain this time. It was a snarky little shark sipping on a drink. I dangled it in front of Karl singing "Baby shark doo doo doo doo doo doo" "Daddy shark, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo." Now this song would be drilled into our heads for the rest of the night and I totally regretted it now.

I did a little packing for our adventure we had planned tomorrow as we waited for the show at 7:30pm.
I have to say it was a pretty good show. However, our seats weren't the greatest. We had been sitting upstairs on the 3rd floor balcony area on the other shows. But Sakari insisted on sitting on the bottom floor. We ended up under the over hang and I don't suggest you get these seats if you plan on seeing everything. The acrobats will be flying in the air over top of everyone's heads in the audience in this show.
The ending went out with a bang...fire and all.
After the show we were hungry and hadn't had our dinner yet. We were heading to the buffet for something instant and quick to pick from. We did not feel like waiting to be seated then waiting on food to come out. Sorry kids, not going out to eat tonight.

Of course there has to be a dessert involved. I didn't really care for the chocolate cake and icing (I'm not really a chocolate cake type of person and never have been).

Once we returned to our room our tickets were in our room for tomorrows excursion as promised. We would also have a notice to stay on ships time.

Our "ducks" for the day:

We took a shower, watched a little tv and then off to bed to get up bright and early tomorrow for our big day.
Of course Sakari had to do a drawing of her and Karl dancing since they were the stars of the trivia show today.
