The pool is located on the roof of the building and there is also a hot tub up there. The day that we were there, there had been some storms the night before, so the pool and hot tub were a little dirty and needed cleaned. However, it's a really nice area to hang out in and you can see a lot of the area from up there. In the mornings, you can also see the tops of the cruise ships in port.

It was really nice to stay at a place that offered free drinks and popcorn during the day and then the free hot meal (Kickback) in the evenings. You can make a meal out of it and save some money on dining or simply use it as a "snack time".  We thought that it was more than adequate as a evening meal and hit the spot. It also included free alcoholic beverages. They give you coupons for the drinks to use and they are limited, but more than enough to "get your drink on". The hot morning breakfast they severed was good and they had a pretty nice variety to chose from. It definitely hit the spot prior to checking out and heading to the cruise terminal. We definitely didn't go hungry and we saved a lot of money by staying here and not having to buy food.

We thought the rooms were nice and pretty spacious. It does have what I would call the older type of hotel decor in it (instead of more of an upbeat contemporary vivid color you see in hotels these days), but it gave off a "royalty" vibe to me. Which was a good thing.

The bathrooms were nice and had marble in them. Everything was fresh and clean.

I do have to add only 1 negative thing that happened during our stay here. I am very avid about checking all hotel rooms upon entry for any signs of "critters" in the bed. This day and time, you can never be too careful and the last thing you want to do is bring new "friends" home that won't leave.

I immediately checked our beds and found everything in good condition with no signs of "friends".

Later in the night, both the husband and I were itching a lot. We kept filling like something was crawling on us, but I knew that I had checked the beds and everything was fine. Could I have missed something? It was really hard to get a good nights sleep after this.

Once morning hit, I started to investigate and immediately seen some "critters" I had not anticipated being in the room. There were all over the night stand and a can of soda I had left sitting on it.  I found a trail down the night stand and across the floor, along the area outside the bathroom on the floor and up the wall.

This was my discovery.....ANTS! Both black and red and they had obviously been biting us all night.

Upon check-out, the clerk at the desk ask us how our night was and I told them it was wonderful and we loved the place however....then proceeded to tell them about the ants all over the room and showed them pictures I had taken with my camera. The manager that was standing at the desk with the clerk immediately apologized and said he had no idea but they had been doing work on some plumbing in another room nearby and maybe they had hit a nest of something. He thanked me for letting him know about the situation and said "I will compensate you for your troubles." I told him it really wasn't necessary, but he insisted. I thanked him and we were off to catch our cab. Only I didn't realize what the compensation accualy was until I seen my statement once we were in the cab....HE COMPLETELY DELETED MY BILL. IN FULL!!!  I paid nothing for this stay. Now that's what I call customer service! It was very unexpected and very appreciated.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Would I recommend this place? Absolutely without a doubt. It's in an excellent location and within walking distance to just about anything you could possibley need. It's a very nice hotel with nice spaceous rooms. The inside of the hotel lobby area looks very elegant and plush.

The pool and hot tub up on the roof are another added luxury to this hotel with an excellent view. It's a great area to relax in.

The added extras with the HOT breakfast, snacks and soda during the day and early free dinner are just an added plus to this place. This place can save you $$ by not having to buy 2 extra meals during your stay.

Customer service was top notch, friendly and they went out of their way to make sure my stay was a pleasant one. I would definitely return to this place again.
